Nature the applique way

Today I took a class from June Jaeger. She's an amazing quilter and artist. Most of her quilts involve nature and the outdoors using fusible applique, among other techniques. Here's a bit of my fun today...

I started out by tracing my pattern onto steam a seam 2...

Placed the pieces onto my fabric and cut all the pieces out...
Decided where I wanted them all to be, peeled the paper off and stuck it down...then to the iron...
I still have much to finish on it...can't decide if I want to do more of the quilt or just make this into a nice wall hanging....we'll see! I think the quilting part will be fun.

My first house block

I'm quite excited about this block and will make a few more before I send them off to Bumble Beans Inc. (I haven't spent time figuring out how to put links yet so I'll have to figure that part out later...) but let me try...click here to get to see other blocks!

I love all the house blocks others have made...fun to see them all together!

Churn Dash Block Exchange

YeeHaw!!! I joined a block exchange through one of the local quilting shops. Everybody makes 12 churn dash blocks each month and turns them in...in exchange, each person gets 12 different blocks back. (6months of churn dash!!!!)

The theme is western fabrics...so, I wonder what all the blocks I get back will look like! :) Should be fun. I had a hard time giving these up...so cute. I especially love the red ones. And now 4 more months to go of more blocks....
